Did you just have a home showing, and receive bada feedback from an agent about your home? How to accept the feedback, and move on!
1. Take a deep breath. It is just business. I know that this is your home that you have made memories in. You have laughed and cried in this home. However, it is on the market. We need to see this feedback. We can learn from the feedback! It is important how potential buyers view your home with their perspective. Maybe there are things we can change?
2. Analyze the feedback: Can you fix it, or can you not fix it? Cleaning, repairs, and price can all be fixed. But it depends… is it minor or major? How much will it cost? Everything is negotiable. Location to a busy street, commute to client work is not something you can’t fix. If the potential buyer needs something closer to work, or a different layout, don’t take it personal. The agent is letting you know why the house is not the one.
3. Ask yourself “Did I do my personal best getting the Camera Ready today?” If you didn’t change out the cat litter, then don’t be surprised if someone says your house stinks. If you didn’t put the dishes away, or make the beds, then don’t be surprised if the buyer’s agent says, it’s too messy. You only get one chance to make a great first impression.
4. Remember… your home had a showing! You need to remember that not all homes are shown 3 times in the first day. Sometimes it takes a few days, a week or so, sometimes a month before the first showing. There are several factors to consider. Is it a buyer’s market or seller’s market, price range, time of the year your home is on the market, weather, holidays/community events, location…
As your REALTOR®, I am honored to have the opportunity to list your home. There will ups and downs during this journey, and I am so thankful that I am a part of it! When we receive feedback from an agent, it is an opportunity to learn and make adjustments as needed. If you are doing your personal best to get your home Camera Ready everyday, then I couldn’t be more proud of you!
