Let me explain further…
I was doing a virtual home showing, and the home was priced in the luxury range. I walked through the room into the garage, and as soon as you opened the garage door, a skeleton was facing the door. My clients talked about that skeleton for at lease 10 minutes. When we were going over the houses again, they said
"Oh, you mean the one with the skeleton?"
NOT
"Oh, you mean the one that was $____, and had ___ bedrooms, __ bathrooms, and ___acres."
Now, please don't get me wrong. I want you to have fun listing your home!
However, I want you to remember ONE THING….
YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE TO MAKE A GREAT IMPRESSION!
I have had many showings where sellers like to purposely place items in closets to play a prank on the buyer.
- creepy dolls
- rubber snakes
- skeletons
- full body cut outs
…. Etc.
Sometimes it is children who do this without their parent knowledge. I get that. But my clients always end up talking about the prank than the house. Holiday decorations are great, when they are holiday season appropriate.
Sellers, especially in this market, make your home memorable for all the right reasons.
