You decide that because of the current market, you would like me to help you sell your home. AWESOME! We sit down, talk about pricing, marketing, showing schedule, and then is dawns on you
What about the vacation we planned?
Please, please, pretty please, let me know and the entire real estate team know WELL IN ADVANCE.
Your real estate team is as follows: your realtor (me), title company, appraiser, surveyor, mortgage company/ your bank, residential service contract rep, etc.
Why?
Well, your home is going to be under contract. You may be thinking, “Well, all of my work is done.” However, there could still be the following:
- Negotiations
- Amendments (changes) to the contract
- Addendums (additions) to the contract
- Questions that need answered
- Annnnnnd… Closing Documents you need to sign.
Please inform the real estate team the following, again, WELL IN ADVANCE
- Where you will be traveling to?
- How long will you be there?
- Are you traveling with all parties who are on the deed?
- Do you have a power of attorney?
- Will you have access to internet, printer, scanner, etc.
- Will you have access to your cellphone and/or a landline?
- Have you filled out all documents needed prior to going on vacation?
- ....and answer all real estate team questions that have been asked of you PRIOR to departure.
Is it still possible to close and fund, yes; if, and only if, you inform everyone well in advance. We want you to go on the vacation! We want you to create memories! However, we want you to close and fund on your home. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE in Texas real estate.
